Well, here it is... right off my xanga blog site.
Well, the incident happens in the parking of Holiday Bowl in Hayward. To let you know the geographics of the place... Mission Blvd (and the big hill) lies to the east running parallel to the center parking lot, and Industrial Blvd happens to run perpendicular (intersecting) Mission Blvd, to the north to where I was.
The bowling center complex topography is not even. It is about two acres in size, and there is a massive slope in which the elevation is about 20' in difference from the mission street side (the highest), and the golf course/fence side which is the lowest.
Well, the entrance is at the top of this slope, close to the corner of Mission and Industrial. I usually park at the top of this slope, but the management has flagged off the area because they are waiting for the tar and whatever it takes to re-pave a parking lot to dry. Luckily it was dry. So I had to park about 50 yards away from the main entrance... which is also about 30 feet below the main entrance in terms of height. This means I get to roll my bowling balls uphill, about 50 yards, at some crazy upward slope. That wasn't the worst of it.
As you know, i have a 4-ball rolling bowling bag. It's square. it holds two on the bottom, and two on top. I also brought a 5th ball, which sat on top of the square-stacked ball bag I have to pick up spares... a ball I had spent a few bucks of pocket change on.
WELL....
I was beginning to roll up, and i was about 10 yards from the main entrance at the top of this hill...
MY BOWLING BAG HITS A ROCK AND TIPS OVER...
...
THE 5TH BALL FELL OFF....
...
... AND ROLLED DOWN THE HILL... BACK TO WHERE THE FENCE IS... ABOUT 40 YARDS AWAY... UNDER A CAR!
That's right. So i had to leave my bag up at the top, go back down the hill, get my ball and haul it up back up the hill...
...Then I was inside. I only missed one single pin spare with that ball today. So i guess it didn't break. Just a small scratch near the holes for me to remember this great story!
