I just bought 5 new balls, need advice
« on: April 10, 2010, 01:27:32 AM »
So i just purchased a Pure Swing, Freeze, Sharp Noize, Onyx Vibe and Burn. I am looking to replace every ball I currently use. What type of drilling's should I give each one so that they all have diverse reactions to different lane conditions. For example have one having a large hooking capability and another being very weak for dry lanes/tough tournament conditions. Thanks!

No offense but why don't you ask you're driller since you're going to be dropping between $130 - $250 with him probably, unless you drill yourself. He will be familiar with your style and local lane conditions and give you the best information for you.

in my opinion, you dont have a strong oil or light oil ball in that 5 ball arsenal. The Freeze is a bit strong to be a light oiler, and the Pure is not quite enough to handle swamps. If your going 5.....I might reconsider the choice. Once again its my opinion....and I have no clue on your personal game. Thats really the biggest factor on choosing.

You should THINK about the five balls before you buy them. The type of balls you selected dont yield a hook monster for oil or a tame dry lane ball.

Heavy I guess would be the burn if you knocked the polish off of it.
dry would be the freeze.

Freeze and dry.... don't think so unless drilled real week and has a no revs or throws over 20mph.

my ball spped at pin deck is 17 -18 and my freeze is almost as stong as my VE.

the freeze would be a cood benchmark ball.  the sharp noise would be better for the drier lane ans it will go longer than the freeze.

don't let the 4000 polished freeze fool ya it can handle some oil.

Right!

Unless something has changed, the way to build an arsenal is to plan it out and buy the right balls for the job - not try to force a ball to be something it isn't!

"Hey, I just bought a mega-friction, how should I drill it for dry to light oil?"

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go put the finishing touches on my Nissan Versa before this weekend's NASCAR race!

I'm  just  saying  it  would  have  to  be  one  heck  of  a  weak  drilling.   cause  that  ball  does  not  like  the  dry it  launches  off  of  it  like  it  was  kicked  (  at  least  mine  does).   I'd  even  go  as  far  as  to  say  it  would  be  close to  the  burn.

the  sharp  noise was  made  to  go  longer  than  the  freeze  and  I  compare  the  SN  to  brunswicks  TFD.   they  both  have  similar numbers  and  that's  my  step  down  when  the  freeze  is  too  much.

but  to  each  his/her  own.
