I've bowled eight times in the last 19 days and I haven't seen the same lane conditions yet!  Oil all over, oil in the middle only, oil on the edges only, dry middles, dry edges, long oil, medium oil, short oil, lots of carrydown, dry backends...you name it and I've just about seen it in the last three weeks and I love it!  It makes you have to find something different each time...and I guess that's one reason my scores have been so "up and down" recently...that and a higher % of strikes combined with a low spare conversion %!  Normally, I'm down and in but the conditions this evening were causing my ball to move WAY left if I played the second arrow as normal...scores bad.  If I moved right to play outside the second arrow the ball wouldn't come back...scores bad again.  I was "forced" to do something I don't/haven't/wouldn't normally do...I moved to the center of the approach and had to play the ball between two and three and swing it out to about 8 or 9.  When I was able to do this, it was a flush pocket strike.  If I didn't get it out to 8 or 9 it would go high on the headpin or even Brooklyn...high headpin shots left 3-6-10, Brooklyn gave up the ocassional strike but mostly left a solid 5 pin.  Scores better!  Spare conversion was much better this evening as well...THAT has been a STRUGGLE in recent weeks!  No telling what Monday night league will bring...I just hope I figure it out quickly!
