Im bowling on the kegel short pattern tonight & i was just hoping for some insite on how to attack it. I have a fairly high rev rate, 375ish & a typical speed of around 17mph. I can adjust either if need be, but this is my "A" game.

My wife is also bowling with me, she has VERY low balll speed & revs that overpower such speed.

Is there a good starting point for either of us on this pattern?

i would start with your ball not inside of 12 at the arrows. with your rev rate i would suggest a benchmark as the strongest ball you would use depending on volume. you need to let the ball roll off your hand and try not to hit it much. more you the back release so it rolls earlier and doesnt over react, especially since your on short.

i would play as far out as possible and just ball down as needed because as soon as you move in the ball will check as soon as it exits the pattern. this is basic short oil lane play just so you know for other things you bowl in with short oil

the way i see is all about speed, start slow and go faster and faster, and just let the ball do the job, 35 ft means plenty of hook, breakpoint close to the gutter

best line is around 5
try to play straight as possible as you start but once the lanes break down you can have some swing

heh, as it turns out, no matter what pattern they put down in my center, outside of 5 is complete out of bounds.

Between 5-10 was so over under there wasnt much there, not many people had much luck out there. The best shot i ended up finding was 20 to 10 with good speed & heavy hand. The main problem i had was with mechanics, i just coultnt stay consistant, too many bad shots, on top of missing easy spares due to lack of concentration gave me a 142 average for week 1.

Im hoping i can come up with something better to do for next week, but for now, it seems as though im bowling on a very tight reverse block.

5 is out of bounds when you have a loop to the ball
you have to close your hips and shoulders think of how norm duke plays
ive been on this pattern for 6 weeks and damn do i hate it
