Our league started out with a regular easy house shot.  Now five weeks into league they changed to White number II.  Not an extreme hard shot, but much more difficult then our house shot. It has really screwed our handicap leagues up since the handicaps were established on the easier house pattern.

So not asking for a particular ball, but what kind of ball/drilling matched with a line is a good place to play this pattern? The lefties for the most part are doing well but the right handed bowlers are struggling.

Thanks,

I have bowled on the White Pattern a few times but I do not know which white pattern I was on.

The one I had was very dry in the track and had heavy volume right and left of the track sound like what you have?

I used a MoRich Craze with a control layout Pin was next to the fingers MB out about 2 inches maybe a touch less (I don't remember the exact angles and pin distance sorry). I played deep, 18 or so at the arrows to start out to about 8 or so for the break point at about 43 feet. I just kept bumping in all night, tried to stay left of everyone else. Oil burned up fast.

Hope that helps

well I would go with a High pin up drilling, and have the CG over at 20degrees...  so you get a consistent reaction.

and yes, starting away from the track area is a plus, and when the lanes dry up, just move left and bump the ball off the dry.

And I'd probably go with a mid to low end ball that IE tropical heat / breeze, slingshot, freeze or something....

That sounds a little like White pattern 1 because there is a ton of oil in the middle and fairly long.  But I could be wrong.  I'll give it a go this morning.

Thanks for the advice.

I can't say I have bowled on White II, but after looking at the pattern, here is what I would suggest to a bowler with average stats:

Start with a mid-level solid around a 2000-4000 abralon surface and "pin-down".  (this would depend on your stats.  I also like symmetrical pieces.)

Start going as strait as possible getting the ball out to around 7-8 at the break point.

As the shot breaks down, move in with a medium pearl or hybrid with polish to bump off the developed dry area.

Eventually it should play like a normal house shot.  But since the total volume in the middle is a little lighter than a normal house shot, you don't want to blow the shot away throwing strong stuff to start.  You will need to anticipate your movements a little quicker also to stay ahead of any transitions depending on your surface.

I am not a pro-bowler, but I do play one on BallReviews.com

Thank you for the recommendations.  I was able to play this pattern well with an Andaconda.  So after we finally figured out the new pattern, they changed it back to the old condition without telling anyone.  So now relearning the old pattern and bringing out the old arsenal.

Thanks again,
Barry
