Men’s and Women’s Head Bowling Coach

Summary:      The Men’s and Women’s Bowling Coach will act as Head Coach of the Men & Women Bowling Teams.  He/She will be ultimately responsible for the overall administration and management of Men & Women Bowling programs and the performance of the teams, both athletically and academically, and the coaching staff.  Specific duties are as listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•   Oversee the Men’s & Women’s Bowling Teams
•   Schedule teams’ opponents
•   Arrange travel needs (transportation, hotels, and meals) with Athletic Business Manager
•   Arrange for referees at all home contests and review all contracts/contest agreements
•   Coordinate practice facilities and times with Director of Facilities, Recreation and Intramurals.
•   Inventory and maintain uniforms and equipment
•   Identifies program equipment and supply needs, gathers bids and coordinates purchase.
•   Oversee recruiting of new student-athletes
•   Coordinate off-season workout program
•   Oversee fundraising efforts for the Men’s & Women’s Bowling programs with Marketing and Development Director
•   Interfaces with the Athletic Training staff concerning injuries to student-athletes
•   Coordinate off-season use of the Field house with Director of Facilities, Recreation and Intramurals.
•   Ensure that all student-athletes are performing to the standard in classes for eligibility
•   Perform semi-annual eligibility checks
•   Coordinates the scheduling and monitoring of study table
•   Actively participate in CCAC meetings of Men’s & Women’s Bowling coaches
•   Promote deserving student-athletes and the team for awards, both academic and athletic
•   Maintain statistics of teams’ performance with Sport Information Director.
•   Act as liaison to the NAIA and CCAC Bowling Administrators
•   Prepare annual budget requests and maintain financial vibrancy coordinated with the Athletic Business Manager including athletic scholarships.
•   Maintain a proper accounting of university funds received and used
•   Coordinate all additional duties with department personnel, as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
•   Coordinate and ensure team fulfills community engagement of Champions of Character.
•   Additional/Dual responsibility required in relation to University programs and candidate’s talents.
•   Coordinates hiring of assistant coaches (both paid and voluntary) and Graduate Assistants with the Director of Athletics and the Athletic Business Manager.
•   Direct and coordinate all coaches completion of the NAIA Champions of Character Training Module within 60 days of hire.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Supervise and train all student-athletes, assistant coaches (Paid and volunteer), and graduate assistants.


Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management or related field required.  Master’s Degree preferred. Three to five years of related work experience.                    

•   Driver’s License, National license or certification in specific sport for coaching, if available.
•   CPR/AED training as required by American Red Cross.
•   OSHA & Sexual Harassment Training.

Other Qualifications:  Exemplar of the NAIA Champions of Character Model and sensitive to issues of all students and student-athletes.   The Coordinator must complete the NAIA Champions of Character Training Module within 60 days of hire. 
                       
Physical Demands:
•   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach
•   The employee is occasionally required to stoop, crouch or bend
•   The employee must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. 
•   Specific vision abilities required by this job include:  close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
 
Work Environment:

•   The work environment for this position is a typical office setting, as well as court/field.  Individual may be required to perform duties in adverse weather conditions.
•   Individual should be able to work nights and weekends.
