Who's Hot & Who's Not?
« on: January 28, 2005, 08:14:39 AM »
It seems like ball companies get on little rolls now and then while others seem to be stumbling along...

Right now it seems to me that Brunswick is really hot, Storm seems to be plugging along like always while Ebonite and Hammer are just dying.

Of course there are always regional ups and downs but from what I have seen and heard, that is my take...what do you guys think?

In my region, ebonite, hammer and storm are all plugging along. Track is constantly on the liquidation lists, roto is doing better for us than most other shops( two staffers working with us), columbia as always is there and the balls that own the nation have a crown on them. AMF seems to be the outcast princess

If somebody gives me free stuff, then it will be my duty to say that Company X's bowling balls are the best.

As of now, nobody gives me free balls.

So, basically, I think the ball manufacturers are pretty much all the same.

Except for Lane 1, remember, they sooo much better than everything else because they hit so much harder which is incredibly ironic because so many moved to 15# to DECREASE hitting power.

BVP series(nemesis especially)is seen alot at my house...I don't understand the hype about Storm though,I heard alot of guys say they have a love/hate relationship with thiers(high end balls especially). The big C is pretty popular too...IMHO all ball companies have something good to offer. It just depends on where you bowl and how much you want to spend....

I've seen a lot of bowlers using the big B and I am quite impressed with the way the ball hits and the mix coming from that hit. I've also notices plenty of LANEMASTER LEGEND balls being used. TRACK balls are  seen frequently! A lot of other companies seen .. but newer balls are usually from the companies that I mentioned.
