After spending a couple of hours at the local lanes watching some really good bolwers compete in the Southern West Virginia Open, I finally realized the difference between guys who average 175 (me) and those guys who average 195+...they don't miss the "easy" spares. Sure they had an occasional open or two on splits but none of them missed the one, two, or three pin spares.
I've ruined way too many games this season by missing the "easy" ones and there is nothing more frustrating...not even missing a three foot putt ('Bones)...I guess I've got something to really work on this summer.

I noticed the same thing last weekend when I was caddying for a college tourney at my house. BUT as many people that used plastic, there were just as many that flattened there wrist with there strike ball.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique
And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

bk, were you caddying for the IBC sectional qualifier in Downington? If so, you got to see some damn good bowlers out there.

Some did but not all, most used their strike ball and threw it straight(er) on spare conversions.

Yeh, GO HOKIES!!! That's how I came up with my board name...the "VT" in my moniker stands for Virginia Tech and the "Turkey" part has double meaning...of course, three strikes in a row and also VT's "official nickname" is the Fighting Gobblers.
