I think it was 220? A friend of mine got mad and sanded one to like 220 or 320 and now he loves it. I think it was one of the fuzes? lol

I had a storm boost that was 200 grit.only used it one time.

220 for the hell of it on a gold angle... Hit like a sponge... Terrible, don't think i'd be able to use it on anything but the heaviest of oil. Brought it back up to 800, polished it, and it is now serving burnt conditions for me.

I tried my Ebonite Optyx Formula 1 at 180 grit (wire screen) and it was HILARIOUS!!! I couldn't get the ball to hit for anything. It was like a rotten pumpkin hitting pavement...the ball left some of the weakest leaves ever...EVER!!!

When I bowled ACUI's at the Indiana U campus, they decided to double oil to about 50'...after every squad, so by the third squad there was zip as far as backend went.  One of the bowlers from Ball State took his ball down to 80...I think he got the ball to move about 4 boards when everyone else was going straight.

Back in the day...I think the Blue Hammers came out of the box at 320.  That would be the lowest grit I ever used.  These days a 400 grit wet sand with a Burgundy Scotch Brite scuff is as rough as I have need for.

400 is the lowest I have ever used. I still use that plus I also use 600 & 800 on some balls. Depends what I want the ball to do.
