Good luck to you, Henry and mumzie.
I still bowl (15 years later) with a partial tear in my ACL. During the past year I have hit the gym very hard (5:00am) because I knew if I didn't my bowling career was going to be too short. I do spinning 3 days a week (legs and cardio) and lift the other days, with some time on the eliptical machine.
Right now (nearly 48 years) I feel better than I have for 10 years. I have no need for the daily arthritis medications 90% of the time, which is nice. I won't lie and say it's been easy, because I work my butt off. The rewards are worth it now.
Anyway, I hope after your injuries have subsided, you can do something similar, too, and keep the bowling alive in your lives. Best wishes.
