best heavy oil ball??
« on: March 24, 2005, 04:46:47 PM »
So i went out and bought a bruns warp zone 6 months ago.  it rules.....in medium oil! my driller misunderstood me and put pin above ring so the backend is delayed and tame.  crap.  but i love this ball for medium oil.  The only problem is it cant perform in the heavy oil at all-it doesnt move at all in sport and barely moves in my modified house shot.

im in a "have a ball" league this summer to defend the title we won last summer.  my brother is doing this as well and is going go give me his ball that he gets for free.  I was wondering what two balls you guys would get for heavy oil? i have been lookin the last few days and was thinking about these:

Storm Vertigo
Morich WMB
Bruns Absolute Inferno?
Columbia Big Bully
Bruns Ultimate Inferno
Hammer Real Deal

these are just ideas. if you guys could help me pick out a ball that would be stupendous!  any input is welcome. thanks

bob

*Disclaimer* This is my opinion. I don't work in a pro shop, I am not a coach, and I am fairly inexperienced compared to most posters here. I do however love to bowl, and give advise. Take my advise for what it is worth. Hope this helps!

Don't know firsthand about any of these balls except the Absolute. The Absolute is fantastic, but with the box finish, I'd say medium to medium heavy. It could work well if dulled, but for a straight up match I would go for the Ultimate over the Absolute. I have heard great things about all of the balls you listed, but the best have been about the Ultimate, Vertigo and the WMB. Many bowlers have reported great success with all three. I will say that the WMB is a different kind of ball. The folks at Morich are sure trying some innovative things, and they seem to work. I have seen, and more importantly heard this ball thrown, and as they claim, you can hear a difference when it hits the pins.-The good kind.
Hope this helps and Remember Take this for what it is worth.

The best ball and hopefully u can go to a demo day and try it out for ur self is the xxecl this ball is the ball that will comeback from anywhere u can miss 10 boards right and it will still come back to little oil in league for it good on carry down and flooded shots not good for a T.H.S

the new big deal from hammer is a freakin hook in a box. it has the gas mask core with an added flip block. This bad boy bites through the oil with a strong mid lane read, and this ball rolles, and then when it reached its break point...BAM....a ahrd tirn to the pocket...so i would strongly recoment this ball for heavy conditions

bobbo,

Look into the Track Rule GP2. Nothing works like it in oil. Out of the rest of the balls on your list, I would choose the Big Bully.
