i am sure not the only one who knows this but ,i found out when i shot my 300 that only around 1%of all bowlers shoot 300 games. Ther are people who enjoy the game and strive to do well every time they bowl .for me it is a disgrace to have an ability and make mockery of it that way.To act as if you are so good that you have to try to be bad and take pleasure in knowing i am so good i can miss to fill in my awards book. But, on the other hand,I guess if thats what gets your juices flowing then have at it.
I was bowling last night, and my avg. is only 201,but its the first time i have been over 200 so its kind of a big deal to me to shoot 600 whenever i can.Small goal ,but its mine. 236 first game and a dismall 150 second, should have changed ball ,but it was new and i was stubborn.Last game with ball change Im on track for an ok game ,but, we are losing.I could have thrown off after the 8th and tried to lower my avg. maybe and maybe in those instances its better to sandbagg for another day.The way bowling is today i have heard on many occasion that very same advice. It was ,however, important for me to maintain, to be able to say i shot avg.,to say, even in a losing effort, i did my best. So if when bowling for a 300 and someone leaves an 8 count on purpose could i congratulate him or pitty him ,when there have been so many to leave that 8 count and carry it with them for months, because they were so close to perfection. Its a slap in the sports face that you would try to do less than that.
