If I got a dollar every time a bowling ball staffer posted a positive review, I would never have to work another day in my life. Staffer reviews are the most pointless reading on this or any other message board.

A few of the staffers on here actually seem fairly unbiased but only a few.  They tend to be the ones whose accounts have more than single digit total posts.

Everything is relative.  If a staffer includes descriptions of ball motion and where it slots in their arsenal in comparison to other balls, a staffer's review is not totally worthless.  It may not offer much more than what the company sponsoring them already puts out there but there are times where staffers will come out and say a ball is either way stronger than advertised (HP1 Hustles) or weaker....

However, when a staffer says a ball is X number of boards stronger/weaker - I don't pay attention to that because it is going to play Y number of boards stronger/weaker for me.  And obviously, "best ball ever", "hits like a truck", and "continuous through the pins" are completely ignored.

The staffers for the most part don't care. They're doing it out of contractual obligation to their ball company, who gives them stuff. They want to stay on staff, so they talk it up.

The one thing I'll say to this is i hope Storm learns how helpful Luke is with his knowledge and insight. There are a few others as well where i hope their respective companies appreciate the value provided by those individuals.

Luke is pretty good...and it makes me respect his opinion more so.  The problem is every company won't make money selling to the "smart" bowler.  They make money selling to the sheep....

The ones who read one of these articles and are so impressed.  I get asked all the time at league as I'm the local ball junkie.


 The conversation always starts with, "I read this new ball is supposed to be the best out there"

Then I flat out give my opinion...no sir I don't think the sure lock is a good choice on these wood lanes here dude, that goofball mechanic couldn't put out enough oil to use it. 


Then they either buy it and are unhappy. OR they get the ball I suggest, like a HYROAD and they score like crazy!   

I def don't give in to he hype....i also wait to buy stuff anymore....

Jeez does anyone remember the phaze and fight hype....barf!!!!

The Phaze II wasn't that bad. lol

Unfortunately I bought into the hype of the Snap Lock, the ball has it's place and I've scored well with it on certain conditions but I found it not to be as versatile and consistent as I was expecting. I plan on trying a few different surface preps on the ball and hopefully I will find the right one for my needs!

+1 for Luke, wish I read his review for the Snap before buying one...think I would have prefered a Code Black instead. lol
