Anyone want to set this one up?
« on: June 28, 2004, 10:48:51 AM »
I would like to have this arsenal set up if anyone could help me. I throw around 16 mph, medium rev rate, not a cranker, more of just a stroker, my PAP is 4 3/4 right by 1/4 up. Let me know the drill patterns with the balls please.  Here are the balls:

TPC Player-pin is 3 to 4, top weight 3oz
V2 Clean-pin is 4, top weight is 2.5
V2 Solid-pin is 3.5, top weight is 3
Inferno-pin is 2-3, top weight is 3
Big Blue Pearl-i can pick any pin and any top weight
Anomaly-pin is 3, top weight is 2.5
Crunch Time-pin is 2, top weight is 2
Big Blue Spare

I think what would help would be to know the type of conditions you see when you bowl so that we know how to help you in terms of the drilling patterns that you need. If all you see are typical house shots, the drillings would be very different than if you saw a variety of short oil, long oil, flat oil and sport oil conditions.

For instance, my main house that I bowl in has a reverse block short oil pattern on the lanes (flooded outside, dry inside) so I had my Eraser Pearl Particle drilled for a strong skid/snap to get through the heads and provide enough energy for a great back lane reaction. My heavy oil ball has a drilling that provides an early rolling, even arcing reaction when I hit that condition. The key is to make sure that everything doesn't look the same in your drillings, especially if you have two balls that cover similar oil conditions.

My one house shot is a crown/top hat where the middle has a pretty good amount of oil, and it goes less volume until you hit 5 where it is OB.  It's oiled to 38 and buffed to 40 i believe and it has some flying backends.  To give you an idea i use a wild drilled label stand about 20 send it out to 7/8 and it comes back to hit the pocket.  I also bowl at another house where the shot seems to be flatter, less backend, and much carrydown.  I also do tournaments where there are sport shots, one was a 35 foot sport pattern that 10 and right was OB.  Also, I bowl at a house which is total flood, very little backend, no OB but not enough to send it out there to get it to wheel back.  Let me know if you want me to say anything else.

The player which i am getting drilled up soon, I was thinking 3-3/8 and a 45 PSA.  For carrydown instances.
