If you could only see one person to fix your game.........
« on: June 29, 2010, 07:46:52 AM »
Who would that be?

Greetings, I haven''t posted in a while but I need some help right now.  My main problem right now is my ball speed: my fastest speed is still a mile and half slower than your average bowler''s lowest speed.

I''ve read the all the tips online to fix it, I''ve taken videos and shown them on other sites and I''ve talked to coaches within my area, but nothing has solved my speed problem.  They''ve helped me with other parts of my game, but while the speed of my shots is much faster than when I first started, the speed is still too slow for it to have a real impact.

I''m a bit desperate because I love this game a lot so I''m going through lengths to get the help I need.  So I ask again: if you had a problem with your game and could only choose one person in the US to diagnose and fix it, who would that be?

I''m open to anyone and I would prefer someone who has worked with the pros but you get the idea.  I don''t care about costs like that, the only thing I would prefer would be someone in Illinois, where I currently live, but I''m willing to travel across the country if need be.

I would Say go the Best and that is Fred Borden or Ron Hatfield. The Both of them will be at Orland Bowl In Orland Park IL on July 17th & 18th I have gone to Bill Spigner, Joe Slowinski at kegel, Fred Borden ,Jerri Edwards and Ron Hatfield. I have learned things from all of them. No 2 coaches, coach the same.  I have had 1 tell to do it this way and another change what they taught me. I like to try different ways. so that is why I check out different coaches. I am a silver level coach myself. I like to pick up pointers to make me a better coach for my students.  And Now I only use Ron Hatfield. Ron Is one the best I have seen or have used. He is Rhino Page's coach since his days on Jr team USA. Rhino is pretty damn good. Orland Bowl Info 8601 w. 159th st Orland park IL for Info Call John Hudson @ 708-415-3951. Well worth every penny to do this clinic. Remember the First Rule of Coaching there are no rules. Everyone is differnent it is not one size fits all. So try different coaches until you find what fits best for you.

Bill Spigner, Hands down in Illinois. Also, used to have a pro shop, knows drillings, layouts, etc. from that aspect. Many people around the northern Chicagoland suburbs swear by him.

Rumor has it Fred Borden has a clinic coming to IL mid-july, you might look into that. Other than that, I would have to say Spigner is your best bet, without traveling across the country.
