Im tired of this..
« on: January 25, 2004, 06:20:46 AM »
Seems like no one around here cares about any type of youth league or tournament. They don't oil the lanes for use, so were stuck with fried lanes.(great for low rev players).

Simple fact is that no one seems to care about us. They just leave the left out oil from the other night on there. They don't bother to give us fresh shots. I know some will say stop bit*hing and learn to bowl with it, but after 2 years of this, its gets fustrating.

When I was in youth leagues we never got fresh oil shots except when it came time for tourney's. I agree that the youth leagues should get fresh oil as well. However I also think that they should have some lanes that have carry down. The best situation would be to mix it up have fresh oil for a few weeks and then don't oil for the league for a few weeks and just mix it up.

Im 15, and we dont get a whole lot either. We DO get fresh shots, but next to that we dont get jack in tournies.(1 every 3 months, or more) Plus theres only 2 alleys within a half hour drive of me. I have to play those burnt shots now and then also, and Im a fairly high rev player, and your right, learning to do it is one thing, bowling on it constantly just gets OLD! like bones haha kidding

Well, I get a very frusterating rev. block on my friday afternoon league, every time. I have yet to encounter extreme dryness, or any dryness. This new house I am at doesn't even have dry lanes on practice. But on my previous league, during the first half of the season, it was never oiled, but then they started to just use a house shot. Personaly, the non-oiled lanes on saturday morning at my previous league never bothered me because back then I was not a high rev player, but might now.

Well, I bowl during the day for craps and giggles and theres oil out there at those times, but when youths come in, they say "Screw them, were not wasting oil on kids."

I just wish for once theyd put something decent out there instead of left overs. Im nto saying I cant bowl on this, I would just like to see them throw a fresh shot out there once.

I bowl in multiple leagues and tourneys. All with higher average youths. Seems as if everytime we go out there, you could swing a blue dot. I guess their trying to help out the kids with low revs??

Even today, the lanes were sooo dry we had to put so much speed on it that it was crazy. We were trying to put so much speed on it and we slided so much at the foul line we were losing balance. I pulled out my Wild, and it still over hooked. I think I need to get it redrilled thoguh also. I dont liek the way its drilled. Pin is under ring, with cg out a little with balance hole. PAP is 5 inches. I think the Pin should be moved up above fingers and MB and CG swung towards track.

I have to second what Jeff Mop said.  The conditions in adult leagues are so much easier for the most part.  If the shot isn't fresh, they whine and complain about it.  Some of them have had the nerve to say, "It's harder up here with the big boys, you don't get those 3-4 boards of area like you do in youth leagues."  No, now I've got 5 or 6, I mean honestly.  Either you get leftovers, or a mediocre fresh shot.  I REALLY miss bowling behind the peewees and getting to bowl sport shot tournaments, now I'm trying so hard to keep up with the scoring pace that I've forgotten how to actually bowl.  And while the adults are whining up a storm when the conditions start to break down in their "intimidating" 5 man leagues, you can sit back with a smile on your face, because you'll know how to bowl on patchy or burnt conditions.  You may not blow them out of the water, but if you're decent you should be able to at least keep up.

Looks like some things never change. There is hope however, I bowled on the same type of garbage and turned out just fine. Try to stay focussed and make good shots, the pay-off will come when you hit a nice oil pattern and you crush em.
