Post by: trynabbest on January 13, 2009, 04:17:25 AM
Lately i have been in a nasty slump. I cant seem to get my balance together.  I havent been hitting my mark on a consistent basis.  It just feels like everything is out of wack.  I practice twice a week and have league day. Practice goes semi-well and then league day comes and i know what i need to do i know how to play the lanes but i cant get my mind and body to line up any suggestions would be helpful thanks guys.

"out of wack" feelings are usually due to something going wrong with your first step (2nd on a 5 step approach).  So I would pay close attention to this step first and see if that's a quick fix.

If not, then get some coaching.  Professional coaching is, IMO, the quickest most efficient way to get out of slumps.

It sounds like a timing issue. How many steps do you take?  3,4,or 5? Do you score watch during practice? That you should avoid doing because if you want to work on your timing that should the only thing that you should focus on and nothing else. If you focus on too many things at once you'll only confuse yourself more and not make any progress and defeat your purpose of practicing. I hope this helps.

I agree, sounds like you are trying too hard during league play.

All the advice sounds good. I have heard that i am over thinking or trying too hard, maybe i am forcing it. i am fairly certain it is a timing issue now as well, probably too much training at once. but ill definately use some of the suggestions thanks alot guys
