In need of help.
« on: May 11, 2004, 04:02:00 AM »
Ok, I was throwing 14 pound equipment for a while, until I started to throw it way too fast and was getting no reaction. I figured I'd try throwing some 15 pound stuff, and threw that for about a month with good success then I noticed my speed dropped down to about 12 mph from up around 15-16 mph. I figured I might have been on a "high spell" for that month I was throwing 15 pound stuff and took out my old 14 pound x-factor today. I got "re-aquainted" with it and was throwing it when I realized I was still throwing around 11-12 mph even with the lighter stuff. I tried a free swing, a muscled swing, I even stood farther back on the approach. This worked for about 3-4 shots and I was throwing around 14, which still is slow to what I used to throw. After those 3 or 4 shots though, it went back to about 11-12 mph. I dont know whats wrong. What should I do?

Give me your stuff, your money for upcoming tuesday league, and quit.

Oh wait, that doesn't help.  Well, when people respond, I help you with it the next time we're bowlin.

Uh, well you're not my friend who lives 2 minutes from my house.  And I said I'll help him when someone with *knowledge* gives him advice...

Jack*ss.

BTW, you're obviously too smart for us.  Afterall, you stated he's throwing it slow, I mean it's not as if BK said that anywhere.....

And in the other thread, you were just putting useless things in my post, not saying you'll help me with something when others chime in.

Once again, jack*ss.

BK are you babying the ball?  That means are you short arming your release.  When you get to the bottom of your swing extend through your shot don't just let go of the ball.  You may think you are following through but odds are you aren't.

Try this, set a towel completely unfolded and flat about 6 inches on the lane past the foul line.  If you are bending over and laying the ball out of the lane then you will be chasing that towel alot.  If the ball goes over the towel your are extending through your swing and getting the ball out on the lane.

That doesn't mean THROW the ball past the towel.  It means just follow through.

This is just a suggestion, usually the problem is easy to indentify.  It is the solution that is difficult to find.  Normally when you are doing something weird at the line it is caused by something you did in the beginning.

Good luck,
Andrew

Hmm, andrew, that actually sounds like something....BK, I think I might remember you kind of "stopping" your release so to speak...Hmm, we should go bowling this weekend.
