In need of some new shoes
« on: August 01, 2013, 12:31:46 PM »
The title says it all, I'm in need for some new shoes as it's been 4+ years til mine finally gave out.

Most people I know swear by Dexters but I want to know more about what's out there.

How well do the Dexter SST's compare to Etonics or the newer Storm shoes? I'm mainly asking for how well are they built, like are they built to last.

I never said there was anything wrong with 3-G heels or soles...I simply said that if needed you could modify Dexter heels and soles to work on the 3-G shoes. There are also options available in the Dexter heel/sole com,bos that are unavailable in any other manufacturer and knowing they can be altered to fit the 3-G shoes can be a bonus. You also get the option of the cleat sole with the discs if you go 3-G.

I personally like the feel of the 3-G shoes and, call me fickle if you must, but I like the look of them much better as well.

Why not stick with Dexter? Well as I have stated #1 personally I do not like the look or the feel of the new SST line.....colors are too flashy and they just do not feel right on MY feet so I choose to wear other shoes. #2 never once did I say that I bought 3-G shoes, threw away the heels and soles and then ran out and bought Dexter piecs to modify and use. The intent was to inform the OP that he should not shy away from 3-G just because hemay not be able to find replacements locally. Dexter units can be used on 3-G shoes....that's all I said..

Then of course there is the bad rep that Dexter has accumulated over the last few years.I have heard tons of stories about the longevity of the new era Dexters being crap. I have yet to hear any negative regarding the 3-G units.

As the OP has stated he got a screaming deal on a pair of Tour Ultras on eBay....now he can decide for himself...
