What was the surface at originally, and what surface alterations did you make to the ball? If it's dull, it's probably rolling itself dead and then that would be the reason why it's hitting bad. Also, drilling it max hook may have something to do with it, too. You don't have a profile, so I can't really tell how you throw the ball or anything like that. If you're getting it drilled for heavy oil conditions, and you purchased the seek and destroy, there really was no reason to max out the drilling, because the ball, in itself, is already going to move. My guess is that the drilling is causing it to expend it's energy before it hits the pins. Some more information about your game, the shot you're throwing on, more info on the ball, etc, would be helpful. Personally, I think it could be the drilling, unfortunately. Putting a max hook drilling on a ball that's already supposed to hook a lot doesn't seem like a winning combination.
Just my opinion, others chime in if I am wrong anywhere, or to second my opinion.
