You probably are like me and generate a lot of your power through your armswing. If you are like me, if you don't unleash a ton of power on the ball with your wrist at the bottom of the swing, you will notice a lower rev rate when you slow you arm speed down. However, just remember than when the lanes are oily, you don't necessarily need to cover a lot of boards -- you just need to get the ball into a strong roll and generate entry angle into the pocket. That sometimes means coming up the back of the ball more to reduce axis rotation and therefore reduce skid.
