I strained the tendon in my index finger. Does anyone know of a support product for the index finger. I thought I remember seeing on some years back. I don't wear wrist supports but not sure of any options other than rest and medical tape

Cobra offers good index finger support, but don't know if they are still available anymore or not. I have an old one that I play with now and then when nothing else works that day. They were popular back in their day. I know Ebonite had one similar later. Blockbuster Bowling shows the Ebonite one.

Mongoose lifter helps minimize hyper extension of the fingers and offers great support

Years back Master made an index finger support. It was a plastic support sleeve that slid over the finger. I Recall that years back Tim Criss used it in the PBA TV step ladder a couple times. Not sure if it is still in production. I did similar damage to my index finger years back and it worked well for me till I healed

I think Johnny Petraglia used to be a sponsor of this index finger support sleeve also. I want to say it had "Accu" in the name or Super Touch but I'm not positive. I've been searching for something like this as I have arthritis in my index finger knuckle and need the support but don't want to wear a wrist device. Right now, in order to bowl pain free I have to wear the Moro Pro release extended version to support my finger.
Here is an old PBA show where Matt Surina is wearing an index finger support. It's not the one that I remember Johnny Petraglia using. Thought that was red.

Take a look at the Storm Xtra Hook. Lightweight, comfortable, and not as restrictive as those mechanical robo arm braces.

The wrist aides in supporting the fingers...if the wrist breaks down the pressure transfers to the fingers

while that is true, I don't have an issue with the wrist breaking down. I strained my index finger and looking for a temporary support fix until it heals. The wrist braces limit what you can do with your release and want to avoid them.
