Half Inch Pin Placement
« on: March 18, 2004, 07:27:21 AM »
I was browsing my pro shop tonite and noticed that one ball was almost half the price of the rest of the high performance balls. A Hammer Vicious Particle pearl. Couldn't figure out why until I noticed the distance of pin to CG. Just a half inch. No one wants it because you can't go nuts with a drilling. Anyone ever drilled one like this up? How did it work for you? I'm gonna try and coax him down on the price.

I just drilled up a ball like this, having a little trouble with rolling over holes (think the pin is too low) - but love the reaction, very smooth and controlled -- helping me be more consistent!

I'd put a witty bowling slogan on here, but I'm not that good yet...

Unless the top weight is high, that's a perfect ball for a 315 degree drilling.
