conventional finger tip ball

I drill my own equipment, and i recently decided to go with conventional finger tips. but i am a bit under knowledged on how to drill oval finger tips. Do i use the same bit and just adjust the ball accordingly? Or do i change to a smaller bit and adjust accordingly? how much do I need to move the ball left and right in order to make the fingers oval? 1/32? 1/8?. so if anyone knows, I would love the input. THank you

You will want to use a bit that accomodates the finger size front to back (pad to finger nail). Move the ball the difference between the front-to-back size and the side-to-side size.  So if the finger is 1/2 inch front-to-back and 5/8 side-to-side, move the ball 1/8 inch to the appropriate side (away from the bridge) to make the oval.

I recommend you use a Dremel tool with round sander. Mark your fingers on the sides and insert the fingerholes. Sand out SLOWLY where the markings and check out fitting. Repeat until you feel comfort.
