Before everyone in sanctioned competition has an award score (298,299,300)? And what will that do to the game?
While I know this is a stupid concept, the number of award scores keep rising and the number of sanctioned bowlers keep getting smaller. And this recession is hitting hardest at those bowlers who are not "dedicated bowling nuts" and most of them have award scores. So it looks like what will be left is predominately the better bowlers or at least a higher percentage.
That being the case, I can forsee that bowling will completely become an activity and sanctioned leagues will become more and more rare... maybe one to two nights per week. And the good bowlers will band together in search of other better bowlers and have matches to spur on competition.
What do you think?
