Switch Grip Plugging
« on: July 09, 2007, 04:03:46 AM »
I afraid to plug some equipment because of the switch grip. Have any of you all plugged a switch grip ball and redrilled it another way? What were your results?

I use the Grip-loc system in all of my equipment and I have plugged many balls without any isues. The only thing with plugging a hole that big is you have to do it in two steps. First do half of the hole with the clear plug. Then when its dry, you can finnish off the rest with the rest of the color matched plug. If you dont wait long enough then the plug will crack and youll have to drill out that area and plug it again.

I agree with bowl 2 win 2 step works best. Try to stay away from the quick plug 2, it likes to crack.

If you have dps trays or a super small ice cube try when you have extra plug put in the tray u end up making plug cubes that can be removed like ice cubs and then inserted into any hole you wish to plug. This helps save the amount of plug you use per hole. This also heps keep the temperature from the curing down and helps prevent cracking.

There is nothing wrong with plugging the 1st half of the hole with quick plug, then using the normal stuff to finish.

Saves a lot of time. I do it all the time, and never had a problem.
