I use Switch Grips and really don't have problems with it other than wear and tear stuff.  Can't expect these things to last forever.

One of mine cracked at the base of the insert, but a few drops of superglue and it was good for another couple of months.  I have like 3 sets, so I always have backups.

I had all my stuff switched to Vise-ITs at last years nationals at the Hammer booth and have never had any issues. Switch Grip has really improved over the past couple of years, but I still don't like the fact I have to punch a 1 1/2" hole in my ball for a sleeve.

IT is awesome! The one noticable thing about it that i'm pretty sure is different than other interchangeable thumbs is that you only need to drill the whole 1/16 bigger than normal. I loved it when I was still able to bowl!

I have been installing the Griploc Interchangable system for me and my friends and customers for the last 4 years with great success. Give them a try.

We've had luck with both systems.  The only draw back I've ever seen with the Vise-It system arrises when a customer has an extremely long thumb.  I've only seen this once...but at an extreme condition you can't get the system deep enough / have enough room at the bottom to keep the thumb from not bottoming out.  That particular person utilizes swith-grips system and a modified bit to get the depth extra deep.

my pro-shop guy, uses the turbo 2n1's and I recently switched all my stuff to it, and love it...  He's been using the 2n1's for a long time, in all of his stuff, and really likes it.. I do have the 3rd gen stuff too..

Which I did ask him about after inquiring about it on here.. And he did say that all he uses is the 3rd gen stuff, and he showed me the difference.  And did say he hasnt had 1 issue with the 3rd gen stuff.

i have the ITs and like them better simply because they click into place. with the switch grips they just slide and seem like they could come out of place very easily

the newer switch grip stuff does click into place also
i dont think either 1 is better than the other they both accomplish the same thing which is keeping the same thumb on all your equipement

Love the Vise IT.  Haven't been able to break one.  Broke many of the Switch Grips, they don't seem as friendly to people who like their thumb hole really tight.  IT feels more solid, more like a regular slug only.

So there you go. Fans for all the main systems.
Best bet is to ask your driller which one (s)he is most comfortable installing.

I personally use the Turbo system. I do have a little play on my older first gens, but my second and third generations seat snug with no play at all.
Never needed a 'click' to tell it was in properly. I've used them so much I would feel it if it was wrong as soon as I set my thumb in the ball.

+1  the newer generation turbos are good.

we do both systems in our shop. the vise take longer to install. We also had a customer that had a long thumb and was unable to use the vise.

for those with problems with the turbos being loose...put a single piece of BLACK tape inside the outer sleeve (the big hole) and put your inner in. This snugs the fit just a tad.

I use the turbos because that was the system our shop used first. ow, just don't want to plug all my equipment to start over with the ITs.

However, selling a ball with the vise its seems easier...just slug the hole...EASY.
