Good day,

If you're intrigued by the two-handed style and all that comes with it, this project may be of interest to you:

thanks for the words, will probobly still wait for the new league to start, and just see how the league goes, and then it it goes good just convert next year.

edit: bowling is more fun two handed, i seem more relaxed, and care just a bit less which in return i bowl better.

FWIW...two handed may generate some interest especially among the younger set.  Old bodies I doubt can handle this amount of extraneous upper/lower twisting.

It''''s great that USBC is trying some new ways of generating bowlers but IMO this is NOT the saving grace and will not keep USBC viable.

I continue to believe in 10 years a kid will see one of US oldtimers throwing 1 handed and say to his parents....

"Why is that _________(fill in the blanks) throwing with only one hand!?"

Well, I won't go quite that far, Lefty, but I do think this style will see a great deal of staying power and become more and more common as time moves on. You'll never replace the one-handed style there's no reason to. But there is a great deal of merit to two-handed bowling. I don't think it's going away.

I've thought about it myself. To be fair, I think it would be best to start off a new season, with a fresh handicap. It wouldn't be fair to my team to have me learn two handed bowling mid season and bowl under average week after week.
Also seeing your average drop, and then switching back to one handed if you really need a win wouldn't be fair either.(sandbagging???)

I may start bowling two handed after this season is over, give myself the summer to learn before next fall/winter league starts.

Gene, I was wondering if you plan to ever go back to the one-handed approach or if this is planned to be a permanent change.  Would you recommend the 2-handed delivery to someone that just couldn't seem to solve some sort of release problem?

Apologies for reviving an oldish post, but after people started asking the reasons why a one-hander would change to two-handed, nobody put forward the following reason ..

If you don't put your thumb in the ball, you never grip the ball, hook your thumb up in the ball or have to suffer with swelling or shinking of the thumb during a set or tournament. This can be a massive advantage if you're cursed with any of the above. You do need to be in pretty good shape, and fairly strong in the legs to even think about it though.
