Interesting Ball On eBay
« on: July 16, 2008, 09:26:38 AM »
Is this where the term suitcase
release came from?
I would think this ball would be rare.  Anyone know anything about it?

one of the drillers at the pro shop and trophy house in hopkinsville ky actually makes thoose... had him drill a ball and one of the best fitting balls ive ever thrown just wish it wasnt so out of the way to get there.

he makes them for handicap people to be able to throw a little bit heavier ball and they ARE usbc approved as far as i know

I figured they would be for physically impaired bowlers, but I did wonder about the USBC approval.  It looks like this one was a factory made ball.  I wish the photo was clearer but it looks like the label says something something Wilson something Grip Ball.

Thanks for the info.

im not 100% sure that its approved but i believe that he said it was.. again if you call and ask im sure that he could clear that up... its a extremely cool idea and designed very well ive messed with one in the shop. and i believe he said as well that he makes them in the pro shop so i wouldn't think that there are many out there.

Retractable handle balls are approved for the handicap bowlers that require them, due to the handicap.

They are approved and if you want to buy one new VERY expensive.  At $50 that was a steal.  These balls are available but usually by special order only since they are not commonly bought and expensive.

That is no lie!!  I sold these in my shop for about $20 over cost to cover shipping, I felt bad because cost on them was like $160.
