Post by: a_ak57 on May 26, 2004, 01:36:38 AM
Kind of odd, thought I'd share.

Here (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36104&item=3678746150&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW") is the link.

Lets buy it and throw it, see if it jams the ball return...or makes it back alive lol

Cool, I haven't really seen this kind of thing before.  Was this the 2 hole precursor to the "K-mart drilling"?

Throw some thumb tape in (if it'll stick) and put your middle AND ring finger into the one big hole, instead of 2 smaller ones...DUH!

Looks correct to me. All balls were drilled with 2 holes until someone (famous) came up with the three hole drilling - I think sometime in the 1930s??
Could have been earlier, but I can't recall for sure.

WOW!!!

This item went from $67.00 and 10-12 seconds left, to $368.33 in the last 10-12 seconds!!!
Why in the world did this thing jump?

Check the following link for the bid history to see what I'm talking about:

Most likely some collector using a "sniper" program. If you are the "average joe" you will not win most items at the "right price" without one. One of the major drawbacks of modern technology.

Wow!

Funny thing is, give me some time, and I could make *close* to the same thing, a wooden bowling ball!  And with an iron core, and make a sandpaper coverstock, woo!
