Inverted Track?
« on: June 08, 2004, 02:59:25 AM »
Is it possible for someone to have a inverted track? If so, what would be the cause? Could it make your PAP a little low? Would there be a difference in ball reaction? Just any info about an inverted track would be great! Thanks in advance. Kyle

I honestly have no idea. I thoguht my track was fairly normal. Just this new driller I went to, he said my track was inverted. He also said a good fit may straighten it out. Anyone have any ideas?

I drill for a guy that has an inverted track and we put some reverse pitch in his fingers. This actually seemed to help his track straighten out quite a bit. On his next ball I'm going to try the same thing and hopefully won't have to have the pin in the safe zone.

Author, wouldn't reverse pitch on the fingers cause a person to squeeze the ball more than normal? I tried reverse pitch on fingers several months ago and it made me squeeze the ball more. I then went to the "Claw Grip" finger tip layout which has the fingers with 1/2" forward pitch and also forward pitch on the thumb and I don't even come close to even having to squeeze anymore, although I still do at times because it's a 30 year habit of squeezing that I am trying to break.

I really don't know. I'm just trying to learn something here.

I had an inverted track i went to 1/2 reverse in fingers and a 1 1/4 clt and my track is no longer inverted about 2" below the fingers and thumb equally. It makes me feel the ball and gives me more a feeling at the bottom of the swing and i acutally no longer hit the ball like the old way. So in my case it worked and i have actually thought of going to 5/8 just to try it but i am no longer in hurry to change anything since i am in the pocket all day now.

I agree 100% with pba-007-fun. I have the ability to throw an invert when I need the ball to push down the lane. However, mine is a lower invert and I definitely whack the pins when I need to make a ball push and I use this release. One thing I did not see mention was that some weight blocks and coverstocks make your track invert. The red solid predator and jungle green inverted no matter what release I threw. I did a pin under finger on bridge line and cg kicked out an inch on the jungle and that ball inverted very bad.

I have an inverted track. I have always had one. No matter what pitch, span, hand position, muscled swing, free swing, open hand release etc..

I also have a high track. I had this track 15 years ago and I still have it. even after a 10 year absence.

I have noticed some real strong cores to have made some of my tracks look normal. and lowered them. I have three Morphoues 2.0 cored balls and all three will have a different ball track and lower than most balls I throw.
