Title: IQ Tour / Hustle Ink / Hy-Road Nano / other options?
Post by: tuckinfenpin on November 01, 2017, 10:09:26 AM
Obviously, looking for a smoother reacting ball, that will fit between the Code Black and Hy-Road pearl.

It makes sense to me to lean toward the HR Nano, as it has the same code as the HR Pearl. However, cannot overlook the IQ Tour and Hustle Ink.

I would appreciate any and constructive feedback in helping me decide what will enter the bag next.

What about a DareDevil?

Hmm Ink with maybe short pin & surface. I think it would be worth your while to see the reception on the Dare Devil Danger, All Out Show Off, & HR Nano as well.

IQ Tour would get the job done, but with only a 3 ball arsenal and house shot focus, I think you'll notice on this board we'll encourage you to go a different route.

What about a DareDevil?

Don't think that'll be too flippy since he's looking for something on the smoother side?

I have a 5x3x4 layout on my Daredevil (and Trick as well), which puts the pin just below my ring finger, and this ball is not flippy for me. It's certainly more angular than the Trick and allows me to swing it a little more - Trick doesn't - but this ball is still pretty smooth. I've basically reserved my two Daredevil balls to shots that require more front to back lane play than side to side.

As for the Ink, even at 3000 (or maybe it was 4000 I had put on it), the ball is still more responsive off the friction than the Daredevil. At box finish it was way too skid/flip for what I wanted it for. I'm hearing reports of other local bowlers finding the same. I'd definitely recommend choosing a control layout and taking it down to a lower grit to smooth it out.

I would follow your heart and get the Hyroad Nano; it's a better overall fit vs the other 2, no question about it.
