Ball Speed
« on: October 09, 2012, 12:41:20 PM »
Just wanted to know if anyone has experience their ball speed increasing and what is causing this... I am watching my feet speed and it seems to be the same but this increased speed is affecting my braken points because the balls are reacting different....  Any ideas on what causes this.....

Break point change could be due to more volume of oil.  This usually results in a more direct line to the pocket.  If you are judging your speed by the lane speed guns then that is probably the difference.  I don't throw my spare ball any faster than my strike ball, but the speed gun registers a 1 to 1.5 mph faster speed.

It could also be the speed gun on your pair, or maybe your timing is better and you are just naturally generating more speed.

A lot of variables to guess.

Probably more oil on the lane. :P  Actually I wonder if you have developed more of a free arm swing. You are not trying to the muscle the ball.

when my ball speed gets to fast i lose ball reaction. at this point I try hard to improve my free arm swing with a arm speed that allows me to feel the ball on my fingers.when i get there ball reaction come back and scores go up.
