Is 299 still an honor score?
« on: April 07, 2009, 10:10:50 AM »
I know you don't get a ring for a 299 anymore but I was just wondering if it is still considered an honor score and it should show up on your bowl.com profile

thanks.. I don't care about the ring.. I just only see the 11 in a row showing up for the 299.. not the actual 299...

I guess the USBC doesn't give rings for youth bowlers but your score is recognized and you can purchase a ring yourself.  Kinda lame but the way the whole youth sports scholarships/NCAA elegibility rules are they are trying to play it safe..
I think it's dumb.. it's a 40 dollar ring.. not a Hummer or a house..

Yeah, it's still an honor score. For some stupid reason it shows up as "11 in a row" now. I don't like that, but it does show the score bowled.

I have my 299 ring sitting in a box waiting to be shipped back to Keepsake because it's too small, after the jeweler sized me. Go figure. Also, it's an 80 dollar ring after shipping

Oh look, signature updating finally works.

but don't you get both.. a 299 honor and a 11 in a row honor??

No, you do NOT get both. ANYTHING with 11 in a row, is just that, 11 in a row. The 298 and 299 awards no longer exist and 298/299 games DO show up in your bowl.com profile----as 11 in a row.

You can purchase a 299 ring.  You get the 11 in a Row plaque for free.

In many states, it has nothing to do with the USBC, it has to do with the State High School Athletic Association.  In IL, last I checked, any award valued at more than $25 was not allowed to be given to a youth.  If a youth accepted the award (ring, trophy, jacket, etc) any games participated in by said youth would be forfeited.

It IS next year!
