my friend switch from 15lbs to 16lbs. and he said his carry percentage went up.  is that an advantage of bowling with a heavier equipment?

I switched from 16lbs to 15lbs and carry seems about the same to me.  Only real difference I see is the 16lb ball hits harder and seems to have a little more pin action.

Big broad brush statements by some. Many variables to consider. Did ball speed go up, breakpoint change, amount of boards covered less or more, more/less axis rotation or tilt? Each one kinda has to be answered to a degree  for some enlightenment. I personally found 15 to give me a better read on med/lighter oil shots and 16lb on heavier oil volumes and wet/dry as it blended better. I tend to come around 15's more. That statement also lends itself to the variable of how much muscle is in your armswing/delivery.
