Title: is bowling like fishing..??

ya gotta match-up to be sucessful...!!

league bowling is like fishing in your favorite lake,..you know what to use to be sucessful...a strange lake and traveling league is guess work

bowlers change balls like changing baits/lures,..'til the right one works..

bowlers got crankers,straighties, and boomers,..fishings got fly, bait, spin, canepole, bank and boat fishers...

we got all our bags full of stuff,..they got their boats..

drinking is ok in both

each center has its own way to score, as does each lake,..inside/outside...deep/shallow.

if I'm striking everyone wants to know what I'm using, where I'm playing, and with what,...if your catching fish,..ditto

our strike is knocking down 10 pins, there's is catching a fish.

our spare is ok but not as good as a strike,..in fishing an almost catch is ok, but getting 'em in the boat is better.

our open is bad, there open is getting hung, losing your lure, backlash.

center/lane conditions play a big part on scores,..lake conditions depend on how many ya catch..

we're always looking for better equipment, layouts, and what works best here and there...same in fishing.

bowling has tournaments,..fishing has tournaments...

the lanes were great yesterday and everyone was shooting lights out,...man were they biting yesterday..

there's bowling shirts,...and fishing shirts.

people that bowl have a tendency to strech the truth about their accomplishments,...all fishermen have a story...

it's all about how many ya knock down,..or how many ya catch,....and then how ya tell the story....all my friends either fish or bowl,..or both. go figure.

If I go fishing and dont catch anything its not biggie cause I got to get out away from everything and enjoy the piece and quiet, plus get in some good bonding time with my grandfather, who i take with me whenever I go. When I bowl and cant hit to save my azz, I get upset, which makes me bowl worse.

Fishing is enjoyable if you catch or not. Bowling is only fun when you get em all down.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

Don't forget, only participants take each of these things seriously, and believe them to be a sport. Outsiders don't care. Another similarity- throwing a big hook and catching a big fish are impressive.

If you don't knock them all down with the first ball, that's no reason to leave any after the second ball.
