Is DynamiCore just marketing?

I've been thinking about getting a new ball, Is Dynamicore just more marketing hype or is there metric that would actually show it has advantages?

Hype is general consensus from non-staffers (ie marketing fluffing, ie. now with more molecules).  There is a very narrow range of COR values allowed anyway and higher COR also means more ball deflection (equal and opposite reaction after all).  Lot of the reason 2 piece balls seem to hit so hard for many people is the high RG conserving energy down lane as opposed to increase COR imo.  DOT on the other hand also imo is worth considering in purchasing decision as a four year warranty is awesome and basically never have to worry about those balls cracking.

I find DOT kind of interesting as blems with really long pins have been drilled inverted for years.

Likely hypr .  Hammer and Columbia had their versions then Brunswick came later.  Notice Ebi and Track never added to their products.  Different color filler is neat but is it a quantifiable thing for strength etc?  Probably not.

20+ years ago, manufacturers were using "CeramiCore", Titanium Core, Bismuth Graphite, etc. to try to increase the CoR of bowling equipment.  As others have mentioned, the USBC has specific requirements for what the CoR of a bowling ball can actually be.  The overall advantage of these technologies is more a placebo effect/psychological than anything.  If the bowler "feels" better about having it and is willing to pay extra for it, that is perfectly fine.

In my decades of bowling experience, and having thrown balls incorporating all of the "latest and greatest" tech it boils down to one thing.  Get the ball in the pocket at the correct entry angle and it will carry regardless of the tech.

I cannot say whether it's Dynamicore or something else, but I can honestly say that I carry WAY better than I should on the "off-hits".   It's also fashionable to criticize everything nowadays.

What about carbon fiber, or whatever else has been introduced?  If you're a skeptic you're not going to believe said technology until it slaps you in the face.  R & D departments of the industry are trying to make better equipment for us, but no one is forcing you to use it.   Let me guess, you're all movie critics, too...

Go ahead and throw your Black Beauty rubber if you want, but your excuses as to why someone else "carried everything", and your "perfect" pocket hits that left the 10 are falling on deaf ears.  Whatever new technology is introduced in the coming years please continue to ignore it and scoff all you want.  I'll continue to trip 4s like nobody's business. 8)

^It's in the contract.  Everyone is a salesman these days.  If this post was in Brunswick forum would back off but going to call out shilling in Misc.  Free to your opinion of course but resorting to a ridiculous arguments in first place because post doesn't match your corporate propaganda is going to get called out.

It is in the contract. But that's okay. Everything is criticized anonymously on this and other sites. 
If Dynamicore or DOT were introduced by another company you'd be all for it.

Last ball I just bought has both (Hero) but got more for the awesome mid lane read and the fact Brunswick business model allows them sell balls for very good prices.  Own a ton of Brunswick (all the new Quantums for example) but not a Brunswick homer.  Brunswick makes some good stuff for good prices but the marketing yeah deserves some flack (specifically said DOT is something very positive though).  But to be fair tough time in the industry so guess can be a bit more political to people fighting for a living. 

(edit:  Also would have called out Hyper Shock too but wasn't marketed as heavily as the greatest thing since sliced bread so didn't get people asking it about it all the time.)

Yes, call me a homer.  15 years ago Brunswick asked me to be a staffer.  I try to give advice on lots of balls.  Here in "Storm country" I help all bowlers with their equipment regardless of which company made it.

I'm 58 years old, with a reconstructed shoulder, arthritis everywhere from a lifetime of sports, and I still carry way better than I deserve most nights.  Would I carry the same with anyone's equipment?  Maybe.  Maybe not.

Most bowlers drive home from league thinking of excuses as to why they didn't score that night.  I'm the opposite.  When I don't score it's because I didn't roll the ball well.  It's rarely an equipment excuse (honestly).

Brunswick is very good to me.  Odds are that someday I probably won't be on staff anymore, but looking at what's out there I'd still be using mostly Brunswick equipment.  I like what I see from them, Radical, and now even more choices than ever.

We can have different opinions on this site without the childish personal attacks and name calling that some threads end up in.  Your own opinions are based on your life experiences.  Who am I to question them since I haven't walked a mile in your shoes?  We are all different, but that doesn't mean bad.

Most of us are really nice guys from all over the country and globe.  I've had the pleasure of meeting some of you personally at tournaments, etc.  Many of you message me privately regarding ball choices, layouts, surface prep, etc.  I enjoy trying to help where I can when time permits.

On topic, Dynamicore, or whatever comes out next, is there whether we embrace it or ignore it.  I don't know if it's responsible at all for my "better than I deserve carry" but I choose to see the glass as half full rather than half empty in life and in bowling.

Sounds good.  Guess probably should have laid off this land mine topic.  Honestly do want to see Brunswick succeed but the gimmicky marketing was a bit hard to lay off when people ask honest opinions.  Have some great balls from Big B family and a few turds which matches pretty much all the ball families.  Was never making it personal about you but only calling out the corporate part of which you do represent I suppose.

(edit:  For record have called out SPEC on house shot here in Storm country and taken my lumps too.  Don't just pick on Brunswick)

I don't know if DynamiCore is just marketing or not. What I can say is that I have many of the recent Brunswick/DV8/Radical releases, and overall, these balls roll really good. However they accomplish it is fine with me.
