Are you bowling/winning scholarship tournaments?  If you are, then no, I don't think it's worth it.  IMO scholarship tournaments are the only reason to stay junior for most bowlers once they hit 18.

Stay youth until you are 'that good', or too old. You can't go back. Entry fees are lower, benefits are greater. Most houses bend over backwards to treat their youth bowlers well. Can't say the same for adults.

Not to knock on your skillz or anything, but if you're not that good to win scholarship money, what makes you think you'll have a chance at the $325 first prize?

Aside from the one tournament, is there more adult competition in the area that you're interested in?  As others have said, once you lose your Youth status, you can't go back.  Are you interested in joining adult leagues in the area, are there guys in those leagues that you want to bowl with (and vice-versa)?  Or would you enjoy yourself (paramount!) more bowling with your youth buddies that you've always bowled with?

Look at it this way if you ever want to play sports in school or college, dont move up,if you move up into legaue that you get payed for at the end of the year(most adult leagues)you are considered a pro.And oncwe you have pro status in any sport High school and NCAA sport will never happen.

Ps. you have a shool bowling team, I wish I had a school bowling team.

well i actually think it would be ok for him due to the fact that his profile says he's 20 which means he only has 1 more year of youth max anyway

yeah im in college, not high school. That'd be a bit embarrasing to be 20 and in high school-not a knock on anyone if that has happened to you.

If you are currently bowling in a sanctioned junior league I would stay in it thru the season. I’m not a fan of quitting something in the middle of the season.

But in general I don’t see why bowlers stay in youth after they graduate from high school.

So if you are not in an organized youth program I would go for it.

It would seem that if you bowled in an adult summer league and it was sanctioned, then you shouldn’t be able to bowl in youth this fall.

I just starting bowling last year once i got in college. The league i bowl in wouldn't be considered junior because we are all college students, and i didn't know what to sanction last year when i started bowling and i just stuck with it.
