There was an older gentleman rolling 1 of those several years ago in my Wednesday night league. Not sure where he went but I know he gave the ball to his kid and that kid turned around and sold it for $320 to some guy who was drooling over it. As for that ebay auction, too rich for my blood! lol

Ok, this auction seems kind of fishy. The same guys just sold one for $1525.00 last week, and now has the same pictures from the previous ebay auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brunswick-Gold-Crown-NIB-Crown-Jewel-bowling-ball-15lb-/110996521136?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&nma=true&si=YTLqIO4J4UgKd9YecgB0QvhKg%2Fk%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Fishy? Hmmm...he has 100% feedback on almost 250 transactions, and as I stated, I know of someone that has TWO NIB in their shop. If you don't believe me, look up the National Bowling Store and call theit North Tonawanda location.

There are a lot of old NIB that are laying around in pro shops, basements etc. It just all depends on who wants to sell them, for how much, and where. Not all end up on E-Bay.

National Bowling Store must have well over 30 NIB relics, some displayed, and most NOT for sale!

Sometimes people don't pay, or follow through on their purchase and the seller just re-lists the item.  I'm not sure if that is what happened here, but just a thought.

MTFD24, he has 100% feedback as a buyer, but never sold anything.

dR3w, I know that happens sometimes. I was watching the previous auction, and it says that it was relisted.

Didn't get what he wanted and didn't sell the item it seems. 1st auction didn't get a reserve price listing.   Either that or there was shill bidding and the shill end up winning.

I would doubt that someone with almost 250 transactions, and 100% would risk his ratings even if it was a first sale. More than likely he would use a bogus account.

And if you would even doubt someone has two of them, I have seen it firsthand....that Doug Heim has two. And a slew of other rare NIB. BTW...his company, National Bowling Store, are the ones manning the Brunswick booth for a long long time, back into the 80's I believe.

But one alone is unusual, and the prices usually go over a grand. It probably was relisted due to someone not paying, lor possibly a schill, but would like to see who made last bid, and their history.
