Title: Is my ball to OLD?

Hi All - With all of my spare time, I am reviewing my arsenal.  Several are a few to several years old.  Are these older great balls now no good due to the passage of time?  Do they still have potential?  How old is old?  Should I consider the number of games on a ball? Just some thoughts?  What do you think? Thank you and stay safe!

To draw a parallel, I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey with 330k miles on it and she's still running strong with proper maintenance. To make a bowling parallel, I have a Dream On from 2014 in my bag still, and it's still awesome. If you take care of.your covers, keep them resurfaced and deoiled, you'll be fine for years.

I started the season with a AMF TNT particle from early 2000 I suppose. Only ball I used all season up until the virus shut down and I raised my avg about 20 pins. It is very smooth, like a strong urethane IMO.  I clean it every week on the spinner using a green scotch pad with light pressure. Shot 700's 4 times. I think a good ball is still good ball, maybe better than some of the new stuff. They seemed to hold up a lot better.

I love this quote above! I probably own some of the oldest stuff on this site. One of my go to pieces on any condition is a Brunswick Red Alert SE. This ball is from the 1990's!! I've shot 299, and 298 with it, and depending on the house, it carries the world! The cover is PK18 and way more durable than a whole host of new equipment that I use!
If you regularly clean and maintain your equipment, it will last as long as you last bowling!

I always liked having a new fresh ball when going to big money tournaments on flatter higher volume patterns.  However on most house shots old is just fine

Older equipment is awesome stuff.  Agree with Impending Doom that if you take care of your stuff, they will take care of you however, if your older stuff has weight/balance holes, remember to get them plugged before the rule goes into affect later this year.
