Is sandbagging an excepted practice in your city or state?
« on: March 08, 2015, 10:53:12 PM »
It seem like every other week there is a discussion on facebook about sandbagging. One person said that all the talk about re-adjusting or re-rating a bowler's average who's tournament scores are noticeably higher then there league average doesn't happen in other city's like it does in Cleveland. Do people just accept it and not complain about it?

Which do you want the answer to--accepted or excepted?

I would say excepted. Most people in my area know who the sandbaggers are but go out of there way to make them feel comfortable because they are friends. I think that's crazy. You go ahead and make money I'll just keep mine in my pocket.

Same here--it is very frowned upon.  There are so many types of tournaments in our
area and people don't like it.

So sandbagging is an "excepted" practice... as in an exception...? Or is it an "accepted" practice...? as in bowlers/leagues accepting it...  I know the leagues that I've bowled in it's frowned upon... So if it was happening, it was an exception, not the norm...  No one would simply accept it.

If sandbagging becomes an "accepted practice",  then bowling as a sport is done in your area. You will never get it back. Anyone involved in this Sport should not tolerate any form of sandbagging. Sandbaggers ruin the sport.

In the state of Michigan, not only sandbagging is accepted....it is encouraged.
Instead of "A Future For The Sport", it really should be "A Sport Without A Future"

I miss the days of bowling tournaments because of this sandbagging issue. I feel why throw your money away when you know going in you have absolutly no chance. I did try the ABTA in So. Calif. Throw out a "Sports Shot" but still saw guys with 20-30 pins handicap tearing up the lanes. No fun anymore.
