Is sandbagging an excepted practice in your city or state?

It seem like every other week there is a discussion on facebook about sandbagging. One person said that all the talk about re-adjusting or re-rating a bowler's average who's tournament scores are noticeably higher then there league average doesn't happen in other city's like it does in Cleveland. Do people just accept it and not complain about it?

Mind explaining a quick summary on the tournaments haha . does it mean practice a week before tournament or something

That's not uncommon. You can bet that he was maxed in the brackets too.

Look at the tournaments Peter Hagin runs if you want a fair shot. He has a variety of event and does not hesitate to re-rate. He also has a series of 20-max tournaments where the most handicap anyone can get is 20 sticks.

No, the practice is the morning at Diablo bowl in Concord. You get 90 minutes for $10 starting at 9:30 AM, then there is a quick tournament afterwards on the same pattern. This is every Saturday morning.

The other tournaments are a different listing.

Oh yea, no problem. If you want to bowl the tournament after, it's $15, if not, just pack up and go home.

It's a really good deal if you think about it. 90 minutes across multiple lanes for only $10. Of course, it's kinda like shadow as the scoring is not turned on, but still, a nice practice session if you want it to be.

What!! Im new to bowling world so I don't know its history. But I met the guy he's koo. He's bowl at my house and is the secretary for the league .

Is sandbagging accepted in my area?   Question should be where isn't it?

I get a kick out of the sanction leagues bowling on 1:3 and 1:4 ratio patterns without a sport designation..... People averaging 20X that average 230+ in a wall shot league is pretty common around here.  It kills it for the house bowlers in "fun"  tournaments when they shoot 750 and the sandbaggers do the same or more plus their handicap sticks.

Until the USBC cracks down on the local sanction bodies, for blocked walls and unsanctioned sport leagues, this game will always be a 1/2  a sport.

Sandbagging is common everywhere.  It is sickening.  If you sandbag you are an unadulterated douchebag And have no moral compass. I could never do it and is why i have a 240 avg in book.  I dont bowl handicap tourneys. league is just a fun time i dont take it serious.  As far as usbc cracking down on it dont hold your breath. They are looking to do as little as possible and collect your money. Sandbagging is here to stay cause there are too few people  who have any pride any more.
