Storm to Visionary?
« on: August 09, 2009, 07:19:07 PM »
Since me bowling equipment has been stolen, I thought that I would replace them with stuff from visionary. I would like to try the ORGE line, for the higher rg, and the low diff, in the balls. What do you'all think about the switch! I think storm balls have become to overlapped with one another. Also I thinking that I would like to become a test staff member.

Send some replies please.

Yes give the Ogre line a try. I have been on test staff for 3 years. I got the 4 ball deal. Try the SS its a great go to ball. My suggestions Ogre SS,Ogre Solid, New Breed Pearl and Solid. Good Luck

I know a guy that got on test staff with them and got all of the Ogres.  You could do the same, and I'm pretty sure that'd cover pretty much all your conditions.

I have the Ogre solid (the orange one) at 1000 Abarlon drilled 4.5 stacked and it is a terrific ball on oily to medium lanes. Hits very hard. Rolls out sometimes and then I may find another ball with a better reaction but I love it.
Problem with Visionary though is they are not allowed in PBA tournaments.

Just because the pro's can used storm and win, dosen't mean that the average joe can used it on ths on his home lanes. I guess that if I were a pro, my decision would be simple. This decision weighed very heavily on me!

I didn't mean to step on anyone toes! To myself, the top to lines in storm to me overlap, I don't see ant difference's between the virtual line to the dimension line. I don't think that I need 4 ball to hook all 40 boards! For what I'm seeing here,(Lexington,Ky) mega balls are not in. I'm looking at visionary for the higher rg, and differential.

Again, i'm sorry if I cause anyone some anger.

I don't think you have any reason to apologize to anyone.

Everyone has their own reasons for choosing whatever they do and it doesn't apply to anyone else.

Some people choose balls because of the color scheme.  Some because of the core. Some because they have had success with that company before.  Some because they like a fragrance or are allergic to fragrances.  Some because they saw a pro on TV bowl well with it.  Some because they want to have something different from all of the other bowlers in their house.

Unfortunately, it doesn't prove squat with repsect to the local bowler on house and local tournament conditions. Only that the Storm balls matched up to the lane surface and the amount of oil the PBA but down. FOr MANY years previously, when the PBA used heavier oil, Brunswick balls matched up best. For some years, in the late 1990s, Track balls matched up best.

Mr Old School,

I have, off and on, used quite a few visionary pieces.  One thing I can vouch for is their performance.  From the mildest one I had ( B/G CENTAUR ) to the most aggressive one I've owned ( CHARCOAL EXECUTIONER ), they do exactly what visionary says they will, and they do it with as much consistency as any ball I've used ( and I used to be a ball whore, having owned over 400 in the past years).

Now, as for which ones you would want?  That depends on what reaction type you like most.  They have balls capable of everything from down&in on dry (urethane OGRE) to hook the lane power (solid NEW BREED) and everything in between.

Oh yeah, their customer service is second to NONE, PERIOD!

The thing is just trying one to see if you match up is a bad idea. They cover all ball reactions, try the ball that fits your style. They have balls I absolutely love, they have balls that are of no use to me. If you do some research, and are honest with yourself about how you throw, Visionary will not let you down.
