Had a session with my coach today -- my track had been creeping up toward my thumb and my scores were steadily decreasing from my big day mid June. I've been working on an open handed release for the last few weeks and I seem to be getting it. My revs are up and my track is back where it should be, but the scores are still low. Coach likes my look with the release, but didn't like my setup too much -- too square which was causing my to have a big loop in my swing. We opened up my shoulders to give me a little straighter backswing/downswing. Also worked on keeping my elbow in which combined with all the other stuff helped get my ball reaction back. All stuff we've done before...He had me go through my arsenal and noticed that my Rush and X-Factor were rolling out on me. I had the X-Factor sanded to 1000-grit and was having about the same reaction as the Rush -- not cool!! The session wasn't at my normal center, and, he tells me, they use a less viscous oil here than where I usually bowl. No wonder I've never been able to use the Rush here!! It's just too strong....Of all the things I learned today, that was the thing that sticks out the most....
