Super Dry Lanes & need ball help
« on: April 01, 2004, 10:01:49 PM »
My league shot is completely toast.  I'm 45 years old and although I can throw a couple balls with speed but for a 3 game set I feel like I've been in a prize fight.  I use a Storm Flashpoint and a Nasty Nail but none of these work very well on these dry conditions (it's not always dry).  What is a good hard hitting dry lane ball.  I can rev it pretty good but would like to tame it down if possible.

Try a brunswick X-Zone.  Also, consider plastic.  The Skull ball surprisingly hits very well.

I am a sawhead too but am am going to suggest a
different one than everyone else. You said you really
did not want to crank it up. So why not get yourself
a XXL. Drill it a tad mild and polish the snot out of it.
I think you will be pleased.

I can agree with you on this but the xxl hooks alot harder than the specs say.
If the lanes are extremly dry I would still suggest the xxxl but if the lanes still have a tad bit of oil then the xxl.

When I first started throwing the XXL I thought it was reactive.  Not an real strong reactive, but it seemed too strong to be a urethane.  I say for toast the XXXL or the orignal Amulet, not the Glow.
