Question
« on: March 28, 2005, 02:53:40 AM »
I got a Roto-grip Oracle Vision (Just to try out, not betraying the nation or anything) and I asked for a 3" pin. Instead, I got a 2" inch pin. I just want to know would I still be able to use a 5x3 drilling or will I just have to drill it another way.

You can lay it out 5 x 3, but the cg will end up in a straight line from your pin to your PAP, 2" from the pin.  Depending on your PAP location and where you want the pin in relation to the midline, you could have to use a fairly large balance hole.  --  JohnP

On the other hand, this sort of straight line layout is one of my favorites.  Normally I end up with a large, though usually not too deep, balance hole.  I like  to put the pin up beside or above the fingers with this sort of in-line layout, then a balance hole on the PAP, or just slightly past, still in line.
