I bowl in an abc sanctioned mens's league. This year our team is in first place but only by a few games so every pin counts. Last week we lost the first game by nearly 100 pins, the second we won by just over 50. It was coming down to the wire in the 10th frame of the last game. Here's my problem and question. Our opponents were already upset that it looked like we would take 3. Their bowler lined up, threw the ball and it was 6, 7, 10 split. After the ball had cleared the pins but just before the pin setter came down, he showed his frustration by "kicking" the foul line, setting it off. He then was allowed to take the foul and reshoot his second ball at a full rack, which he spared. The next ball was a strike. We still ended up winning the game and taking 3 but when we questioned his actions we were told what he did was right. Now I'm not prificient in the abc rule book and believe me I plan to read up on this but was just wondering what you think. This could be a new way of bowling if it's legal, throw a bad ball just foul and shoot for a spare! I would appreciate any replies and thoughts on this! Thanks!
