Is this weird?

Tonite in league I shot my 2nd 290 of the season (4 pin first frame)...and I just found this fact kinda odd.  

My 1st 290 (about 2 months ago) was shot with a Columbia 300 Cuda/C 2000.  
My 2nd, a different Columbia 300 Cuda/C 2000.  

The balls are drilled pretty different (don't have the exact layout on the 2nd one)

One was polished, the other was in box condidtion

And finally...
My 1st one I kept my hand behind the ball
My 2nd one I rotated around

Anyone else done anything like this?

Um not exactly the same but I have gone front 11 sanctioned 7 times, the 4 times I shot 300 was with a bowling ball that was plugged atleast once, the 3 times i choked was with a ball that was on its first drill
