Warning to those considering Linds PSS shoes
« on: September 23, 2003, 03:47:11 AM »
If you are considering these shoes and drag your trail leg at all, look elsewhere

I purchased these shoes after having a pair of Exxxtras from almost five years with no problems at all. As a matter of fact I could have probably worn them for another five years, except the color was coming off and they just didn't look as good as they used to. This being the case, I wanted to stick with the company that sold me such a quality product.

A little less than a month ago I purchased a pair of PSS shoes from Bowling.com, which along with BowlersParadise.com I've found to be the most dependable site. I was very happy with the shoes at first, but that didn’t last long. Within two weeks the right traction shoe started to have the heel come undone, and now I’ve worn away almost the entire side of the sole. There is more wear on these shoes in less than a month than my other shoes sustained in five years.

I’ve concluded the problem is the foam material used between the rubber sole and the inside of the shoe. On my Exxxtras, the sole was solid rubber, on the PSS shoes it’s soft enough to dig into with your fingernails. Sadly this material is exposed to wear if you rub the side of your trail foot on the approach during your delivery.

So basically, I’ve got to go back to my Exxxtras until I get this resolved with Bowling.com. Hopefully they will accept the return… otherwise, I’ll have to deal with Linds directly. Either way, my next pair of shoes will be the new SST 6s. This pair of shoes has killed all the good faith I had in Linds.

My only question is why would you go back to bowling.com with this problem?

I understand it was less than a month, but if it's obviously a build quality issue, I would have taken it up with the people that made it, Linds.

They have (if I remember correctly) a 30 day return policy. I'd just go back to them because I'd assume it'd be much faster than going to Linds. Also, Linds will probably want to replace them with another pair of PSS shoes and I can tell you that I'd have the same problem with any pair of shoes built of this material.
