Title: It amazes me.........
Post by: Rock77 on February 22, 2004, 07:19:20 AM
How a guy like Dave Traber can have any success on the PBA!! I mean look at how the guy throws a ball!! I was in pain watching his facial expressions while he was shooting spares. He seems to have no rhythm, no focus, no concentration. He just picks up his ball and goes!! He isnt smooth like most of the pros, but hey it works for him. I just cant see how he can be successful at that level. He looks like a flinger to me!!

Consistant.  As horrid as it is to watch, his stroke is simple and he throws it the same way ALOT.

I agree with kidjete. Consistant! That's the key.

i was there, and watched it firsthand.

he was on the 4 or 5 baord the entire day. during practice, he was using this nasty grey thing that was hitting brooklyn or thru the nose, EVERY TIME. i think he was using it to push oil down, because when the match started, he brought out another ball and never picked up the grey turd.

i thought he was gonna suck ass!!! then he hit his mark, time after time after time. thats what it takes, a super consistent shot from a waddling fat body.

jaros better be glad he strung 'em up and dave tossed a few spares, or else chubba-lug would have won...

i don't care who makes it, how much it costs, or how sexy the ball looks. can i carry the 7 and level the deck with a $60 ball?

bring on the Lefty uprising!

I beleive the anouncer on TV said that he used that ball to try and burn up the oil on the lane beforehand.

Yup that's exactly what the annoucer said...  doesn't seem real fair but the ball is legal so not much can be done.

As horrible as he throws the ball, as long as he can be exactly the same or close to it every time he throws the ball, that is all that matters. Remember, repeating shots is the biggest objective in bowling.

Bowling is like hand grenades and horse shoes: you only have to be close.

if your but was as big as his (or his brothers) and you tried to throw a bowling ball, i'm sure your facial expressions would be pretty horific too.

Rag's is completely correct I think John has now quit drinking for the 432nd time.  While I do believe he does still currently smoke though.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

My little brother was telling me the other day, that he saw some pics snapped at the afterparty when Daly won. He was partyin' down, drunk as a skunk, and all over the women, just gettin' crazy. I don't know, didn't see it personally.

it amazes you because you most like strut around with the "I so good" attitude that I see league hacks with 200+ avg and think they are really good. LOL!

like him or not he has been there done that at the highest level of competition and has succeed. so get over yourself.
